human-originated data transfer; it was a mobile, self-replicating,
self-repairing, fully autonomous biomechanical organism. by this time, it
had grown to exceed the geometrical constraints of
the planet - it extended into space. and it had assimilated all but a few
viable human minds into its own evolving neural nets via destructive scan.
in assimilating 98% of the knowledge structures and computational
power in the solar system, it had not only far exceeded the hopes and
expectations of its creators, it had incorporated them, amplified them, and
put them to work.
in the year 2112, the kraken, having exhausted the informational and
computational resources of the planet, detatched from earth and began its
exodus into deep space - its systematic and millenia-long search for new
brains, new machines...
